Privacy policy

Last updated 3 October 2026

This policy explains what information Carve the Fate (the website and game) collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to this website and the web game; the iOS and Android apps follow the same rules except that they show no advertising.

Stored on your device

Your settings (audio, motion, text size, combat style), your in-progress run, your run history and the unlocks and achievements you have earned are kept in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not sent anywhere unless you connect a Zonto account (below). It is functional storage that the game needs in order to work, not a tracking cookie. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

If you connect a Zonto account

Signing in is optional and the game plays identically without it. Sign-in uses Zonto's own OAuth login; Carve the Fate never sees or stores your Zonto password. Once connected, your Zonto profile (gamertag, level), playtime and run progress, achievement unlocks, cloud save and — if you use them — friend invites for head-to-head duels are sent to and stored by the Zonto platform so your progress can sync across devices. Zonto's own privacy policy applies to that data: https://zonto.nikorag.co.uk/p/privacy.

Head-to-head duels

The web version's PvP duel mode sends your draft choices and moves to our servers so a match can be played between two people. Match data is used only to run the match.

Advertising

The web version of the game and this website show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, and to personalise them where permitted. In regions where the law requires it, such as the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Google's consent management tool asks for your consent before personalised advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice later through that tool. Ads are never shown inside the iOS or Android apps.

Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings or opt out of many providers at aboutads.info.

Hosting and server logs

This website is served by a hosting provider (Vercel), which, like most hosts, processes technical request data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use this data to identify individual players.

What we don't do

Carve the Fate runs no analytics or tracking of its own beyond what is described on this page. It never asks for your name, email address or payment details inside the game, and it does not sell your information. Fonts and images are served from this site, not from third-party font or image services.

Children

Carve the Fate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
