Bestiary
51 creatures across 4 depths. HP shown is the base value; enemies grow tougher the deeper and later in a depth you meet them. Check the intent on each enemy during a fight — it shows what they will do next.
1. The Barrows
where the dead still keep their oaths
Creatures

Draugr
A barrow-dweller that never learned to stay buried.

Hollow Knight
Its shield wall reads your runs before you make them.

Barrow Ghost
Numbers pass straight through it. Only symbols bite.

Tally-Stone Golem
A cairn of counting-stones bound by old runes. Symbols wash over it — only numbers crack the tally.

Bog Witch
Every skull you roll feeds her.

Rot Hound
It doesn't bite to kill. It bites to let the rot in.

Cairn Wight
It marks you with the cold of the barrow — and the marked are easy to break.

Fen Lurker
It sinks into the mire, gathers itself, and surges.

Clattering Hand
A severed skeletal hand that scuttles from the barrow-dark and claws at the ankles.
Elites

Runebreaker elite
It has shattered a hundred sets of matching bones.

Barrow Champion elite
A dead warlord who still keeps the old forms: shield up, then everything at once.

The Bonecaller elite
A hooded barrow-priest who whistles the dead back to their feet. Kill it fast, before the hands pile up.
Bosses

The Bone Jarl boss
Every ritual you speak, he answers in kind.

Sköll, the Sun-Chaser boss
The wolf that runs down the sun. It will not let you dawdle — reach for your dice too slowly and the hunt rerolls them out from under you.

The Blind Norn boss
A hooded weaver of fate with stitched-shut eyes, hands moving over a loom of grey thread. She reads no future to you — every blow comes unseen.

The Loomweaver boss
A many-armed spinner at a great bone loom, threading your fate into her weave. What she pins, you cannot pull free.

The Plague Sovereign boss
It holds a court of rot. Every turn you stand before it, you rot a little more.
2. The Drowned Vaults
older than the gods, and still awake
Creatures

Tidegorged Thrall
A drowned oarsman, bloated with seawater, still rowing for a master it cannot name.

Vault Maw
A vault door that learned to be a mouth, ringed with teeth and barnacles. It is very patient.

Hollow Chorister
A robed, faceless singer wreathed in tendrils. Its hymn loosens the joints of the soul.

Spawn of the Nameless
A knot of tentacles and wrong angles. Numbers slide off its skin like water — only symbols bite.

The Enumerator
It tallies you in a language of wet clicks and folding angles. Symbols mean nothing to it — only numbers wound.

Abyssal Angler
A deep-sea horror trailing a pale lure. Its light is the last thing the drowned ever trust.

Brine Wisp
A knot of drowned light that stings like a jellyfish and scatters like sea-foam.
Elites

Keeper of the Sunken Door elite
A colossal warden of coral-crusted stone and tentacle, holding one oath for ten thousand years: nothing leaves. Runs of matching bones break against it.

The Drowned Choir elite
A mass of waterlogged bodies fused into one singing thing. Every skull you roll is another voice in its hymn.

The Tide Caller elite
A robed thing of coral and rope that whistles the drowned lights up from the deep. Silence it before the sea answers.
Bosses

Mother of the Deep boss
A vast tentacled god-thing crowned in drowned stars. She dreamed the vaults before the sea filled them, and every ritual spoken in her halls feeds her.

The Vault Warden boss
The vaults' last sworn sentinel, grown into its own door. Every ritual you speak, it answers with stone — and runs of bones break against its seal.
3. The Flesh Engine
where iron learned to hunger
Creatures

Lattice Stalker
A predator of ribbed chrome and sinew that moves through the pipework wearing someone else's spine.

Conduit Wraith
A ghost fused into the wiring, all cable and static. Numbers ground out harmlessly — only symbols overload it.

Cipher Engine
A biomechanical abacus of bone, cable and clicking counters. Symbols slough off its casing — only numbers bite.

Piston Ghoul
A cadaver rebuilt around hydraulics. Its heart is a hammer on a cam — wait for the downstroke.

Sarcophage
A walking sarcophagus of fused bone and plating that digests what it embraces, weeping machine oil and marrow.

Chrome Seraph
An angel of surgical steel with wings of splayed scalpels. It blesses what it is about to open.
Elites

The Grafted King elite
Every champion the engine swallowed is riveted somewhere onto him, a throne of fused armour and tubing. Matched bones offend him.

Hive of Needles elite
A swarm of syringes and probes flying in loose formation around a pulsing core. Every skull you roll, it tithes in blood.

Flywheel Colossus elite
A tower of counterweights and grave-iron. It winds itself tight over two long breaths — and then the wheel comes down.
Bosses

The God-Engine boss
The heart of the flesh engine: a cathedral-sized fusion of ribcage, turbine, and screaming architecture. Every ritual spoken in its presence is answered with a lash of cable.

The Rustheart boss
The engine's corroded first heart, still beating out of spite. Every ritual spoken in its chamber leaves rust in your lungs.

The Echo Warden boss
A warden of coiled brass and recording horns that has heard every ritual ever spoken here. Say the same word twice and it simply refuses to let it land.
4. The Ironwood
the green hell beneath the roots of the world
Creatures

Howler
A wiry jungle ape with too many teeth and a grudge. Where one screams, more are already swinging.

Strangler Vine
A creeper thick as a mast rope, blind and patient. What it touches it marks; what it marks it hollows.

Thornback Boar
A boar grown wrong under the green canopy, quills of living wood down its spine. It paws the loam once — then the charge.

Mist of the Green
The jungle's breath given appetite. Blades and bludgeons drift straight through it — only symbols burn it away.

Idol of Vines
A toppled god re-strung in creepers, counting on fingers of root. Carvings mean nothing to it — only numbers crack the stone.

Spore Shaman
A hunched thing in a mask of bracket fungus, shaking a rattle of knuckle bones. Its blessing is a slow rot in the lungs.
Elites

Simian Warchief elite
A scar-mapped ape lord drumming the war-beat on its own chest. Every third beat, the canopy answers with howlers.

The Rootwalker elite
An elder tree that pulled its own roots and learned to march. It gathers a season of growth in two long breaths — then swings it all at once.
Bosses

The Monkey King boss
A silverback crowned in stolen gold, hauling a rune-scarred bazooka looted from no forge of this world. His court screams in the canopy, and his rockets announce themselves a breath before they land.
The Doppelgänger boss
A shade that wears your face and hands, and answers every ritual you speak by speaking it back. To beat it you must out-think yourself.
